A Mini-course Giving You Practical Advice and Valuable Downloadable Resources

What Do You Gain?

By the end of this mini-course of one hour or less, you will learn how to run a successful musical experience with children aged 3-6.

You and your children will sing and play instruments together using an Argentinian folk song about farms.

You will download the multimedia resources—video, audio, images, list of instruments, and educators’ notes—and be able to start using them straight away.

Who is This Course For?

You may be an early childhood educator, a school teacher, a music/drama teacher, a librarian, a performer, a speech therapist, a parent, a carer or grandparent, or an early childhood student.

All you need is an interest in the well-being of young children, curiosity about the power of song, and a love of songs and simple percussion instruments.

You don't need to be able to read music.

You need to provide the instruments for the children to play. (Maracas, bells, guiros, finger cymbals)

Course Contents

'Come and See My Farm' is about practical ways to share musical instrument songs with children aged three to five.

The benefits of playing instruments in sync with a song are based on evidence we have gathered from researchers, education practitioners, and curriculum writers.

As you make your way through the two self-paced modules, you can immediately apply what you learn in your early learning centre, kindergarten, school classroom, library, performing arts academy, private music studio, therapy rooms, or at home with your own children.

At the end, you will receive a certificate of completion.

Using musical instruments songs is a skilfull way to work musically with young children. Taking this course will give you great confidence in engaging a child or a group of children with real musical instruments playing in sync with the lyrics to an authentic folk song that you can later learn in Spanish.

You will add to your early learning skillset by following the 4 practical examples of how to do this activity. You will add video, audio and image files to your resource collection.

And when you have practised the tips, and utilised the video, audio and image resources, you will come to understand that the way you choose and present songs with musical instruments is a precious gift you can give your children for the rest of your career.

PLEASE NOTE: You need to provide instruments for the children to play. (Each child needs a set of 4 instruments — maracas, sleigh bells, guiro, finger cymbals)
